Garry Lawrence – Black Men Making History
Garry Lawrence started his professional career as a micro-electronic engineer at age 20. After 12 years of working in R&D, field service, and teaching; he discovered teaching as a passion. At age 32, he left the corporate world to answer a call of independence and follow entrepreneurial urges, which eventually landed him in a in small car lot partnership, in L.A. This is where he first noticed the common threads of financial illness in the masses. The Northridge earthquake of 1994 shook him out of the auto business and back in Georgia. Back in the corporate world, he took a fast track to customer service management.
